5月19日,新德里: 今天, the 正规博彩十大网站 (WBCSD) 和 the WASH4Work coalition released an updated Pledge for access to safe water, sanitation 和 hygiene (WASH).

The scale of disruption caused by the coronavirus p和emic is unprecedented. While governments 和 public health authorities are working to control the p和emic, everyone from all sections of the society – including businesses 和 员工 - will play a crucial role in combating COVID-19. 对企业来说,这是部署所有注意力的关键时刻, critical know-how, reach 和 resources to making their workplaces 和 communities safe.

像其他病毒感染一样, the coronavirus can be transferred from one surface to another by contaminated h和s, 哪些会促进间接接触传播. 因此, h和 hygiene is a crucial step to prevent the spread of the virus.

There is a compelling economic case for businesses to demonstrate leadership by addressing this situation. Ensuring proper hygiene 和 regular 和 thorough h和 washing by 员工, contractors 和 customers is a low-cost but one of the most effective methods to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus at the workplace.

许多企业都有业务, 员工, contractors 和 customers in countries lacking access to good st和ards of WASH. 这会导致各种疾病和死亡, impair productivity 和 restrict markets for some products 和 services, 影响操作, 财务业绩和公司的声誉.

The 洗的承诺 originally developed in 2013 allowed companies to commit to 和 implement access to safe water, sanitation 和 hygiene at an appropriate level of st和ard for their 员工 at all company premises within their control. The update exp和s the scope of the Pledge to include a company’s value chain, suppliers 和 communities around the workplaces or where their workers live. 更新后的 自我评估工具 和 指导原则 will support businesses in implementing the Pledge as per the exp和ed scope.

The 洗的承诺 has been updated in partnership with the WASH4Work initiative. WASH4Work is a coalition of organizations that work together to mobilize business to improve access to water, 工作场所的环境卫生和个人卫生, in the communities where workers live 和 across their supply chains.

The 洗的承诺 is an opportunity for business to implement international best practice on WASH for their 员工 at the workplace as well as along its value chains 和 communities. 我们鼓励商界履行承诺, gauge their performance on WASH access in comparison to international best practice, 并发挥自己的作用,确保人们安全地使用WASH, thus making a direct contribution to addressing one of the most pressing public health challenges of our times.

“在过去的七年里, over 50 companies have signed the 洗的承诺: making a commitment to improve WASH facilities in their places of work. 这表示/ 2.5 million 员工 in 170 countries across over 6,000 sites,” 汤姆·威廉姆斯,水务署署长. “As workers across the globe get ready to go back to offices, 生产设备, 零售网点, 农场和其他工作场所, 获得安全饮用水至关重要, sanitation 和 hygiene facilities are readily available as a preventative measure against diseases such as COVID-19.”

“在2019冠状病毒病的背景下, the role of clean water 和 good hygiene as a stimulator of workforce health 和 business resilience is clear,” Kate Holme, Chair, WASH4Work 和 Strategic Partnership Director, 水Aid. “更新后的 Pledge – advocating for WASH action within the workplace 和 beyond the fence line in the supply chains 和 communities where workers live – is an opportunity for businesses to demonstrate proactive commitment 和 progressive action. The WASH4Work coalition is proud to support the 洗的承诺.”

当你读到的时候, 评估和实施讲卫生承诺, 我们鼓励你和我们分享你的经历. 在这个快速发展的全球经济中, 社会经营许可证在哪里, reputational risk 和 access to natural resources have become increasingly important to success, adequate access to WASH should be a key element in a company’s sustainability strategy.
